The Way of Salvation & Our Need for FaitH

How to be saved and have eternal life

1. Recognize Your Need for Salvation

We are all sinners in need of God’s grace.

  • Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
  • Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

2.  Believe in Yeshua the Messiah

Salvation is only through faith in Jesus.

  • John 3:3 – “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
  • John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
  • Acts 16:31 – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

3. Confess & Call Upon the Lord

Salvation is both believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth.

  • Romans 10:9–10 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
  • Romans 10:13 – “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

4. Repent & Receive the New Birth

Turning from sin and receiving the Spirit of God brings new life.

  • Acts 3:19 – “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”
  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
  • John 1:12–13 – “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

5. Assurance of Salvation

When you believe, confess, and receive Christ, you are saved and born again.

  • Ephesians 2:8–9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
  • 1 John 5:13 – “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”

✨ Summary

To be saved and born again (born from above):

  1. Acknowledge your sin before God (Romans 3:23).
  2. Believe that Yeshua is the Messiah who died and rose for you (John 3:16).
  3. Repent — turn from sin and turn to God (Acts 3:19).
  4. Publicly confess and call on Yeshua as Lord (Romans 10:9–13).
  5. Receive new life as a child of God through the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).

Then you are born again — forgiven, made new, and given eternal life in Messiah Jesus.

Our Need for Faith

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV): “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith is a powerful force that allows us to believe in and trust things we cannot physically see or touch. It is the assurance of what we hope for, the conviction of the reality of the unseen. By faith, we understand that God spoke the universe into existence, so that everything we can perceive with our senses came from things imperceptible. Faith is essential to pleasing God, for whoever would draw near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Faith makes the intangible real to us. It takes the things of eternity and makes them as vivid and sure to us as if we could behold them with our natural eyes.

Faith, according to the Bible, is:

  • Trust                     in God’s character (believing He is who He says He is).
  • Confidence      in God’s promises (assurance of His Word).
  • Obedience       in action (living out that trust through works).

Supporting Scriptures

  •  2 Corinthians 5:7 – “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
→ Faith is trusting God’s Word beyond what we can physically see.

  • Romans 10:17 – “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
→ Faith grows from hearing and believing the Word.

  • James 2:17 – “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”
→ True faith produces obedience and action.

  • Ephesians 2:8 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

Faith is believing God, trusting His promises, and acting in obedience — even when we cannot see the outcome.
